June 5, 1863---The Battle of Franklin's Crossing



JUNE 5, 1863:   

The Battle of Franklin’s Crossing, Virginia. A Union “reconnaissance in force” intercepts General A.P. Hill C.S.A.’s troops near Fredericksburg, Virginia, and are driven back after a severe firefight. Hill’s forces are among those moving towards Pennsylvania.
