April 14, 1864---The Battle of Salyersville, Kentucky



APRIL 14, 1864:         

The Battle of Salyersville, Kentucky (The Battle of Ivy Point Hill). After being repulsed at Paintsville the day before, Confederate raiders renew the assault. This time the Union troops drive them west to Salyersville, inflicting approximately 150 casualties.

APRIL 13, 1864:         

The Battle of Paintsville, Kentucky. Confederate raiders, numbering about 1,000, try to take the town of Paintsville in eastern Kentucky, but are driven off by the Union garrison, numbering 750.
