Battle of Corydon, Indiana.
John Hunt Morgan’s raid reaches into southern
Indiana. A force of about 400 Indiana militia and citizen volunteers engaged
John Hunt Morgan's 2,400 cavalry. The determined Hoosier defense caused Morgan
to bring up his cannon and shell Corydon, forcing the militia to surrender.
