September 18, 1863---Action at Lee and Gordon's Mills



SEPTEMBER 18, 1863:      

Along Chickamauga Creek, Confederate troops occupy Lee and Gordon’s Mills and move into offensive positions against Reed’s Bridge and Alexander’s Bridge, both of which are held by the Union. The weeks of scattered fighting in the Lookout Mountain area are about to escalate into a major battle of the Civil War.
