JUNE 22, 1863:
The
Commerce Raider, C.S.S. TACONY takes several prizes---Union-flagged fishing smacks---off
the Grand Banks on this day. The TACONY had a short but impressive career.
Seized by the Confederacy on June 12th she was scuttled on June 25th.
In 13 days she took 15 prizes.
