FEBRUARY 12, 1863:          

President Lincoln’s 54^th birthday. 

The repaired U.S.S. QUEEN OF THE WEST acts in support of the U.S.S. INDIANOLA, which sails up the Mississippi to land at Brierfield, Jefferson Davis’s plantation. The INDIANOLA’s mission is to raid Davis’s property, seize his cotton and liberate his slaves. His brother Joseph’s adjoining plantation is also raided.
