September 13, 1861---Old Granny Lee



SEPTEMBER 13, 1861:      

Although he outnumbers the Federals 2-to-1, General Robert E. Lee determines he cannot drive the Federals from their well-entrenched position on rugged and high Cheat Mountain. His tepid offense on Cheat Mountain earns him the nickname “Old Granny Lee.”
