October 3, 1861---Six Six Six



OCTOBER 3, 1861:    

 The Battle of Greenbrier River, Virginia. Union and Confederate forces clash near Cheat Mountain, Virginia (now West Virginia). Although the battle consumes six hours, and each side fields six brigades, casualties are light: 6 dead and 35 wounded each per side.
