The Battle of Cross Keys:
In the Shenandoah Valley,
Stonewall Jackson has three Confederate brigades hold off a much larger Union
force to enable his scattered forces unite with the rest of the army seven
miles to the southeast at Port Republic.
Union losses were 700 of 11,500;
Confederate losses were 300 of 5,800.
