July 22, 1861---A Union victory?
JULY 22, 1861:
The
Northern Press publishes imaginative early reports of the Union “victory” at
Bull Run, only to be gainsaid later in the day by the facts and by the sight of
disheveled troops bearing tales of woe and disaster.
