August 26, 1861---King to Confederacy: I say, 'Aloha to all Americans!'

King
Kamehameha IV of the Kingdom of Hawaii announced that his nation would remain
neutral in the Civil War. He permitted Confederate-flagged ships to dock in the
vital Pacific port.
