August 28, 1861---Fremont wants to free Missouri
AUGUST 28, 1861:
“The
Pathfinder” General John C. Fremont U.S.A. orders General Ulysses S. Grant to
Cape Girardeau, as part of a movement to clear rebel forces from Southeast
Missouri.
