August 14, 1861---A furlough furball
AUGUST 14, 1861:
Members
of the Seventy-ninth New York Volunteers mutiny near Washington D.C. demanding
a furlough. A number of soldiers are arrested and the entire regiment is put
under guard. The unit is unique for its kilted uniforms.
