April 15, 1861---Irishmen To The Rescue!
APRIL 15, 1861:
President Lincoln puts out the call for 75,000 volunteers to
join the Union Army. This number is soon overfulfilled in the North. Lincoln’s
call, however, creates a new wave of Southern secession.
