March 6, 1862---Only scorched earth...
MARCH 6, 1862:
The
Confederate Congress approves a “scorched earth policy” for Virginia. If the
Federals manage a breakthrough, the policy ensures that no cotton or tobacco or
other agricultural products can benefit the North.
