January 24, 1862---Abolitionists on the rise



JANUARY 24, 1862:           

 The 29th annual Anti-Slavery Convention is held in Boston, Massachusetts. Due to the war, its proceedings are widely reported and enter the public consciousness. Frederick Douglass writes editorials about it. Congress debates its arguments ferociously. The Northern public begins to sway toward Emancipation.
