NOVEMBER 3, 1862:
In a move
which pleases all of South Carolina, General P.G.T. Beauregard orders that Fort
Sumter and Fort Moultrie be "provided and kept supplied with 200 rounds of
ammunition for each gun." Beauregard, concerned that the Union has seized
too many ports already, wants to bolster the Confederate seaboard defenses.
