December 20, 1862---The Rebels burn Holly Springs MS
DECEMBER 20, 1862:
General
Earl Van Dorn C.S.A. attacks and burns Holly Springs, Mississippi, General
Grant’s forward supply depot and sometime Headquarters. Van Dorn takes 1,500
prisoners and destroys $1,500,000.00 in war materiel.
