November 24, 1861---SAVANNAH blockades the Savannah and closes off Savannah
NOVEMBER 24, 1861:
The
U.S.S. SAVANNAH takes Tybee Island at the mouth of the Savannah River and
effectively bottles up Savannah, Georgia.
