Jason Comer writes to the Editor of the Daily Intelligencer, finally declaring his allegiance to the Confederacy after three years of vacillation:
“. . . I am no longer on the fence . . . you will hear my rifle crack on the Tennessee River . . . we are ten-fold stronger than when the war began . . ."
