September 22, 1864---The Ole Swimmin' Hole
SEPTEMBER 22, 1864:
In
Florida, Asboth’s Raid reaches Lake DeFuniak (the site today of the town of
Defuniak Springs). The Union troopers take a brief break from pillaging and
many go swimming in the lake.
