March 23, 1864---The Red River Campaign: The Camden Expedition Sets Out
MARCH 23, 1864:
As General Nathaniel Banks U.S.A. takes control
of Alexandria, Louisiana in the Red River Campaign, Union forces move south
from Little Rock, Arkansas. Their ultimate objective is Shreveport.
