Bedford Forrest, in his first action as a Commander, drives off a Union force
near Sacramento, Kentucky. The former slave trader, planter, and horsetrader, later known as "The Wizard,"
became one of the South’s most effective, unreconstructed generals, and founded
the Ku Klux Klan after the war.
