December 20, 1861---The Battle of Dranesville, Virginia

DECEMBER 20, 1861:       

 The Battle of Dranesville, Virginia ensues when a strong Union force intercepts a strong Confederate force spearheaded by J.E.B. Stuart’s cavalry. Stuart fights a rearguard action in a sharp engagement. It would be one of "Jeb's" few retreats.
