March 31, 1862---Chicken George



MARCH 31, 1862:       

Bowing to the concerns and fears of residents and legislators both, President Lincoln detaches an entire Division of troops from McClellan’s Peninsular Campaign to protect Washington, D.C. McClellan, as was his wont, immediately began objecting and demanded even more reinforcements than Lincoln had detached.
