December 4, 1862---Confederates come down out of the hills

DECEMBER 4, 1862:

The Confederate forces near Cane Hill, Arkansas begin to come down out of the Boston Mountains to attempt a second attack in the area. They are ill-equipped, ill-clad, ill-fed and ill-Intelligenced; they do not know that the Union forces are spoiling for a fight, and prepared to move against a much larger force.
