September 16, 1863---A fateful meeting at the River of Death
SEPTEMBER 16, 1863:
The first
Union troops to arrive begin to encamp along Chickamauga Creek. This little
creek becomes the front line between the Army of the Cumberland (U.S.) and the
Army of Tennessee (C.S.).
