Although
there were no major actions, skirmishes occurred throughout the battle zone on
this day, at places as scattered as Fort Gibson, Indian Territory; Neely’s
Bend, Tennessee; Crab Orchard, Barren Mound, and Henry, Owen and Gallatin counties, Kentucky;
and near Carrsville, Virginia.
