April 22, 1862---ARTHUR goes "Blind"
APRIL 22, 1862:
The U.S.S. ARTHUR captures three Confederate vessels singlehandedly, but is chased through Aransas Bay, Texas, into Blind Bayou. With no outlet to the sea, the Union crew abandons all four ships and makes their way overland to Union lines, narrowly evading the outraged crews, locals, and C.S. Navy and Army troops sent to capture them.
