FEBRUARY 13, 1864:
The
Battle of Middle Boggy, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma): Union forces,
numbering 350 men with howitzers, attack the Confederate Choctaw depot at the
ford of the Middle Boggy River. Although the Choctaw hold out under the
bombardment for 30 minutes at least, they are forced to surrender the ford.
